Suspicious Bets Halt Coral Premier Offering 20 Aug 07
According to the UK's Guardian Unlimited, Coral was offering a proposition bet on Tottenham manager Martin Jol, who is reportedly on the chopping block but suspended wagers after what it deemed irregular activity.
Originally listed at 50-1 to get his pink slip, Coral had to adjust Jol's odds to 10-1 and then 9-2.
After the last line change, a surge of bets averaging £400 were made causing Corla to raise red flags.
Coral halted betting and the Football Association is investigating.
"We take reports of suspicious betting activity in football very seriously and will be gathering as much information as we can in the coming days," said an FA spokesperson.
