Senator John McCain is in the spotlight after offering a March Madness contest on his website.

Although McCain's March Madness bracket contest was non-sports betting related—prizes included John McCain fleece jacket and pins—some people were crying foul.

"I think there's a great deal of difference between setting up a Web site just like there's office pools all over America that have no benefit to the [organizer]," explained McCain.

"Legislation that I proposed said that everything is legal as long as someone doesn't gain from it."

McCain has long been opposed to legalized sports betting.
