Online Gambling Companies to Sue Italian Government

A number of large online gambling operators including Ladbrokes, William Hill, Betfair and Coral are planning to sue the Italian government through the Remote Gambling Association (RGA) over loss of income...

Representing the RGA, Clive Hawkswood indicated that action was being taken as a result of section 66 of Italy's draft Finance Act 2006. The operators will claim a loss of income from the Italian government. The RGA claims that the new Italian law violates five areas of European Community legislation. It is barring access to certain websites.
