The first schedule since the resignation of commissioner Jeffrey Pollack of the WSOP has been announced with a few notable changes in structure, buy ins and management. The most notable of all is the $50,000 HORSE Championship is now changed to the $50,000 buy in Player’s Championship. This tournament changes from a five game rotation to an eight game rotation to feature limit holdem, Omaha hi-low split-8 or better, seven card razz, seven card stud, seven card stud hi-low split-8 or better, no limit holdem, pot limit Omaha and 207 triple draw lowball.
Another major change is that there is now an actual scheduled off day for the WSOP, with July 4th, so that all of the local Americans can enjoy the holidays. Satellites will feature for the main event on that day. A total of 57 gold bracelets are on offer with a notable inclusion of four no-limit holdem events that are of only $1,000 buyins, all schedule for the weekend. New structures have been implemented to ensure deep structures and more starting chips to ensure more quality poker being played.
