Woman Charged For Texas Holdem

Sara Lazzaro of Moon, Pittsburgh has been charged by Heidelberg police for holding illegal Texas Holdem Poker games out of the Heidelberg Volunteer Fire Department hall. Lazzaro has been holding poker tournaments every Monday and Friday since the start of the year and has twice been held up, losing up to $6,000. Running Texas Holdem poker games is illegal in Pittsburgh and is clearly listed as a crime.

Police traced the number plates of many of the players and on raiding Lazzaro’s home found notebooks with names and dates of games, phone numbers, poker tables and thousands of poker chips. The poker games held had buyins of up to $500 per person and had hired dealers, and parking attendants.
