Vegas Helps Out Stranded Europeans 23rd April 2010
Amidst all the turmoil of the European volcanic eruptions, Las Vegas has managed to have a silver lining with many European visitors forced to say behind due to flight disruptions and cancellations. Many visitors are from the United Kingdom and have had to face grounded flights from all the major carriers including Virgin Atlantic. The grounded flights mean that many of the local casinos have had to service many tourists who are stuck in Vegas and need a bed.
Many of the resorts have been very understanding of the situation and have provided the guests with discounted hotel rates rather than the usual floating rates that most travellers have to face. The week has been made more difficult with the fact that there has been a Professional Bull Riders World Cup Event and also the Country Music Awards which has meant many extra local tourists have been in Vegas.
