Ten men overpower South African casino 18th November 2009
The Meropa Casino in South Africa has suffered an aggressive robbery. Ten men armed with AK-47 rifles stormed into the building and headed straight for the manager’s office to try and access the funds held in the safe. The men were able to first over power the security guard at the door and then proceeded to overpower the rest of the security staff who tried to stop them.
The men then headed for the till where they demanded money to be handed over and zipped up in bags before fleeing the scene in Toyota cars. On the way out, the men shot an innocent gambler in the chest. The innocent gambler is now recovering in hospital. No arrests have yet to be made. Casino robberies are not an uncommon event in South Africa, casinos have sustained many raids by ambitious thieves and remains a prime target for daring robberies.
