Swiss online poker players are cheering with a recent report from Swiss legal firms MME Partners and MECN research releasing a report that suggests liberalization of the online gambling market will be the most effective way for a government to reap the benefits of online gaming. Rather than try to minimise the online gambling market, by opening it up foreign companies, the government stands to receive funds from taxes and licensing.

Many poker players are calling for other European countries to adopt the same type of online gaming legislation model that Switzerland might be adopting. Switzerland is not part of the European Union, but setting a good example might cause a flow on effect to the other European countries.
