Soccer Gambling Scandal Uncovered 25th November 2009
Several soccer officials and club officials have been arrested after a major illegal gambling operation has been uncovered by police. For many years, fans have wondered why their teams have often shown inconsistent behaviour and seemingly lost games that they should have won and also let in rather easy goals when there seems to be lots of focus. It has now been uncovered that major scandals involving paying off key players in the team like the defenders, the striker and the goalkeeper have led to games being pre determined.
In all, sixteen people have been arrested for their involvement in match fixing. It is believed that it has been occurring for years now with many club managers the key players in this illegal ring. The Chinese soccer competition matured when China qualified for the world cup in 2002. Since then it has grown in popularity which has led to growth in betting on the games.
