Slots Operators Set To Suffer
1st January 2010

New South Wales, Australia happens to be one of the highest volumes of slots play in the entire world. Over $4.8 billion is spun each year in the slots machines all over the state in both pubs and casinos. All this is about to change as the Australian Productivity Commission sets to implement a set of new gambling restrictions to curb the amount of gambling allowed for these machines.

Slots players could previously insert up to $10,000 worth of credit into a machine, now this number will be decreased to just $20. Players could also previously insert $100 bills into the slots machine, now this number is also drawing down to $20. This rule is set to finalised in February to help reduce the amount of social costs that come with excessive gambling.
