The opening of Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island in Singapore has had a highly positive effect on all the shop keepers who are also on Sentosa Island. After opening right on Chinese New Year, shop keepers are noticing that there are definitely more visitors in the area with the island sporting more attractions for the overseas visitors. Apart from just the casino, the new Universal Studios will be opening in the coming months, giving overseas visitors more things to see and do in Singapore.

The prime minister of Singapore had the lucky chance of playing the first hand at the casino when it opened on Saturday. The game of baccarat was chosen to be featured with the prime minister losing the first hand to the casino. Singapore wins both ways with the result of that particular hand. Long queues were reported at the casino, but good management ensured that the queues moved along quickly. Business is expected to improve by another 15 percent once the casino is fully open.
