Betting On The Presidents Cup 2007

SPORTS

What is it about world/international sports competitions that captures the imagination?

The World Cup, the Olympics and even the Euro tournament are always big draws.

Starting on tomorrow at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, PQ, Canada, the PGA gets set for “world war” as The Presidents Cup begins.

The tournament features a team of golfers from the U.S. taking on an International team with players from every other part of the world except for Europe—the U.S. and Europe compete in the Ryder Cup next year.

Here are some interesting betting options that might tickle your fancy:

Bet365 is offering odds for which team will win outright, with the U.S. listed at -138; the Internationals at +115 and the lesser likely event of a tie at +1400.

William Hill has the Internationals at +120, the U.S. at -138 and a tie at +1200.

Sportsbetting is offering some foursome matchup bets.

Going into Day 1, the first foursome to tee off will consist of Americans Steve Stricker and Hunter Mahan against the International duo of Adam Scott and Geoff Ogilvy.

The American two are underdogs at +105, while the International twosome is favored at -135.
