Sands Casinos has made the announcement that their construction of the Sands China mega resort being built on the Cotai Strip is nearing completion and will be set to open by September 2011. Only recently has construction been restarted with over 2,000 labourers continually working to ensure the project gets completed in time. The construction has been rather intermittent with funding continually creating hurdles with the world in financial crisis.

Since the start of the year, continual negative updates have meant that the share price of Sands has fallen by 4%. Management of the casino are now looking for much smoother waters and will be looking for more positive news in the future to ensure the share price remains stabilised and grows. The new Sands casino will house the world’s biggest casino as well as hotels managed by Shangri-La, Traders and Sheraton.
