Russian Politician Dies Over Casino 4th February 2010
The Russian government famously made headlines last year when it decided to implement a law that made all the major city casinos illegal and forced them to relocate to remote areas of Russia. The government’s rational for this move was that it will help solve some of the social problems in major cities and also help out the remote areas. Since the ruling, two of the major casinos Oracle Casino and Azov City have made the move.
As a positive gesture, lawmaker Nikolai Kotlyarov was in attendance of the opening party. On his way home from the casino, Kotlyarov had a car accident and tragically lost his life. The accident happened at around 1 am when Kotlyarov’s Toyota Camry slammed into a parked car. The death is now creating headlines and raising concerns over the decision to relocate the casinos to such remote areas. The casino owners are equally concerned of the access to the remote towns from the major cities and also the facilities that are available. More casinos are scheduled to be open in more Russian remote towns in the coming months.
