Quebec is the latest state to join the world of online gambling. Online gambling is already legal in four states of Canada, and is now introduced in Quebec for online poker and sports betting. The facilities will be available from mid next year to allow for many of the current existing gambling laws to be amended as the new gambling medium is introduced to the general public.

Many additional agencies have been set up to deal with any forms of possible gambling addiction. Help lines and counsellors have been trained to handle an expected increase in gambling addicts. Internet gambling continues to be one of the fastest growing industries in the world with many countries amending their laws to accept the new gambling medium. Many governments are using internet gambling to increase their gambling revenue and have weighed up the positives against the costs.
