Positive Gambling News From Belarus 11th March 2010
Gambling around the world has taken a step forward with Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko announcing that he intends to move Belarus towards a country with a regulated gambling industry. Although there is no defined ruling on whether he is referring to both online and land based gambling, it is still positive to hear a national leader speak of gambling positively. The main motivation for his gambling stance is a need for the country to increase tax revenues, a locally based tax will easily help increase revenues.
The president also used the fact that more land based gambling will provide much needed jobs and also be a major tourist draw card on top of foreign investment. His statement also featured sections of eliminating underground gambling and reducing crime statistics. His government will investigate this gambling matter further this year.
