Pennsylvania Raises Slots Revenue 8th October 2009
Pennsylvania casinos have experienced a slight increase in slots revenue with a 4 percent increase in the month of September as compared to the same month last year. Total revenue of all gambling was up 30 percent due to two new casinos opening. The government has welcomed the increased tax revenue and will use it to help relieve budget pressures in a lagging economy.
Of the Pennsylvania Casinos, Hollywood Casino recorded the biggest increase in revenue with a jump of 19 percent over the previous year. Other casinos to experience increases in revenue include The Meadows Racetrack and Casino and the Philadelphia Park Casino and Racetrack recording 9 percent and 7 percent increases respectively.
