Penn Casinos will be announcing which of the five alternative sites it will be choosing to build its new Hollywood Columbus Casino. With the November election giving the green light for Penn Casinos to build a new casino, it is now a matter of where the casino will stand. It’s preferred choice is the Arena District, but this has been voted down by the community.
The alternative sites right now sit at Cooper Stadium, Westland Mall, Delphi plant, Polaris area or the Scioto Downs area. After Penn’s choice is announced, it will then be brought to the Ohio House and Senate who will then announce a public vote. It will need a 60% vote by both the Senate and the House before it gets to be presented to a state wide vote.
