Ohio Raids Illegal Gambling
29th January 2010

The state of Ohio is preparing itself of the opening of four brand new casinos. With the new expansion of legal gambling, authorities are now tightening down on any illegal gambling activities to ensure gambling is held exclusively at the legalised casinos. The main targets of the operation are the many bars that offer illegal gambling machines. At least fourteen bars have been raided for their gambling machines and over $1 million dollars has been uncovered from the raids.

Many bars around Ohio and the United States have illegal gambling machines. However since many states did not have any alternative gambling outlets, the bars were left unnoticed. Now the state plans to bring in more tax revenue from it’s new casinos, and the illegal gambling machines cannot interfere with this decision. Casino expansion is one of the biggest trends in the United States, it is seen by many states as an effective way to create jobs and increase revenue.
