All killer no filler NFL betting: Week 6
by Karl Yu, Winneronline
13 October, 2006

SPORTS

No Dallas at Philly type hype for any matches this week, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any good matchups on the sked.

Sunday, October 15, 2006: Week 6

New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons @ Georgia Dome (Artificial)

Line: Falcons -3 (Opening: Unchanged)

Over/Under: 41½ (Opening: 43)

Key Points: New York TE Jeremy Shockey has a foot injury but is listed as probable.

Shockey’s teammate, LB Brandon Short (knee) is also hurting and will probably play as well.

Unlike Shockey and Short, a couple of players will likely miss the Atlanta game. They include WR Sinorice Moss (doubtful, quadriceps) and LB Carlos Emmons (doubtful, pectoral), who both missed last week’s Washington tilt as well.

Despite a groin injury, Atlanta DE John Abraham (questionable) shouldn’t miss any action.

LB Ed Hartwell is questionable with a knee injury and told a local newspaper that he doesn’t expect to be activated.

All signs are pointing to Falcons rookie RB Jerious Norwood being upgraded to probable come game time.

Return specialist Allen Rossum is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury on the NFL’s official site.

The Falcons last saw action in Week 4 and are well rested after a bye week. But the last time they hit the field, they beat Arizona 32-10. That doesn’t bode well for this week as they are 3-12 ATS after a home win and 1-10 ATS after a win by 10 or more.

The Giants, for their part, beat the Redskins 19-3, which bodes well for them. Eli Manning and company have paid out 14 of 20 times after a win in East Rutherford and better yet, are 12-4 against the number on synthetic grass.

Winneronline Opinion: If you’re a numbers person, the Giants are they way to go.
