Washington Redskins at New York Giants
Line: Giants -4½ (Opening: Giants -4)
Over/Under: 46 (Opening: 43½)
Key Points: In case you care, there is another NFC East showdown. After a bye week the Giants get set to host Washington.
Two Washington players continue to have lingering injuries. QB Mark Brunell’s elbow continues to bother him, but he will play and CB Shawn Springs continues to suffer from a groin injury and is listed as doubtful.
Although the Manning brothers went head-to-head in Week 1, the Moss brothers won’t be in Week 5. New York WR Sinorice Moss is out with a quadriceps injury.
Giants’ LB LaVar Arrington will play in all likelihood, despite a knee injury.
LB Carlos Emmons has a torn pectoral muscle and is out.
The Giants have paid out their last two home meetings with the ‘Skins, but are 3-8 ATS after a bye week.
Washington is .500 after starting the season 0-2. To that end, the ‘Skins are 23-12 against the number when in the midst of win streaks of two games or more.
Winneronline Opinion: The Giants’ passing attack will be a little lacking. New York will miss WR Sinorice Moss and WR Plaxico Burress will play with a bad back.
New York Jets at Jacksonville Jaguars
Line: Jags -7 (Opening: Jags -6½)
Over/Under: 38 (Opening: 37)
Key Points: Jets QB Chad Pennington is probable but is suffering with a calf injury.
WR Laveranues Coles is questionable with injuries to his calf and arm.
Three key players will miss the game for Jacksonville. DE Marcellus Wiley (groin), WR Matt Jones (hamstring), and DT Marcus Stroud (groin) are all out.
Jacksonville has covered against the Jets in their last three contests and is 16-8 when favored by 3½ to a TD at home.
When bookies set the total between 35½ and 38, the Jets have an ATS road record of 17-6.
Winneronline Opinion: The Jets are coming back down to Earth.
Sunday Night
Pittsburgh Steelers at San Diego Chargers
Line: Chargers -3 (Opening: Unchanged)
Over/Under: 37 (Opening: 36½)
Key Points: The Steelers are healthy coming off the bye with no major injuries to report besides the neck injury to CB Ricardo Colclough.
The Chargers are listing both S Bhawoh Jue and DE Shawn Merriman as questionable with knee and Achilles injuries respectively.
San Diego is 12-2 against the number when facing teams who are sub .500—the Steelers are 1-2.
The Chargers have also paid out 10 out of their last 13 in October.
The Steelers are road warriors and have covered 79 percent of their last 19 away from Heinz Field and are also 12-5 ATS vs. AFC Left competition.
While on home turf, San Diego has gone under 10 out of their last 12.
Winneronline Opinion: The safest bet would be to play the total taking the under.
