With the recession delivering concern to all the major casino operators, it has allowed many old tricks to resurface on scamming the casinos. Much of the American population is recession affected and many employees face losing their house. With this means that there are constant threats on security, with employees trying to find ways of stealing cash and chips to help out with their struggling mortgages and bank balances.
This year, two Las Vegas casinos have exposed employees trying to extract cash by using phony reporting tactics in the counting rooms of the casinos. By reporting a lower than counted amount, employees are trying to leave with a sum of money and hoping to not get caught. Workers now are re-evaluating the risk to reward factor of crime, and with the recession, it now seems that the reward far outweighs the risk. Casino security experts are continually showing new methods of increasing security at the Global Gaming Expo.
