The Ohio Senate has approved the proposal of a new set of gambling rules for four Ohio casinos. The request is for a new set of rules that need to be finalised by June the third, which leaves lawmakers only a few weeks to edit and produce a new set of rules for a new bill. This leaves the differing parties of the Republicans and the Democrats to work out a new set of rules outside of parliament.
The main focus of the new rules are about whether the casinos can serve alcohol, the fees and taxes casino owners are liable for and the operating powers of the Ohio Casino Control Commission, the new governing body of the Ohio casinos. All this rule changing follows last November’s approval voting by Ohio residents on allowing a casino in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Toledo.
