In a move away from the traditional hunting ground for executives, International Game Technology (IGT) has announced the signing of Gideon Bierer as the executive vice president of new media. It is expected that Bierer will head a strategic move towards slot machine widgets and content for the internet, mobile phone and social networking market. With the internet, mobile phone and social network market continually evolving, Bierer is expected to keep IGT ahead of the competition when it comes to engaging users with slot machine content.
Gideon Bierer’s resume includes a major stint at MTV Networks as the executive vice president of international digital media where he managed the company’s online and mobile businesses. IGT has also announced the recruitment of Susan Macke as the chief marketing officer. Susan Macke’s experience comes from a position at Hewlett Packard’s handheld business unit where she was vice president of global marketing.
