Mixing It Up In Macau
22nd December 2009

Although Vegas provides bright lights, roller coasters, shows of all forms and just so many other family friendly forms of entertainment, it’s Asian cousin Macau has yet to repeat this type of fanfare in the Asian capital of gambling. This is all trying to slowly change with Macau trying to slowly paint a facelift to include more entertainment options for it’s visitors or to entice the visitors. Currently Venetian’s own Cirque Du Soleil has provided very slow sales which has led to it limiting the number of shows.

There is more investment in this direction in the Asian enclave, City of Dreams is investing $250 million in a circus production to help drive visitors to it’s new facilities. Chinese casino operators Galaxy have not included new entertainment options in their Galaxy Resort, simply stating that the Chinese are coming to Macau to gamble and not to sit and watch dazzling performances of any sort like western audiences do. To the Chinese, baccarat and blackjack are still the most exciting forms of entertainment possible.
