CryptoLogic had a number of big announcements to make the past week.

First off, the online gambling software company announced a three-year licensing pact with online gaming company, 888 Holdings Plc that will allow it to select from Crypto’s game menu and add to its offerings.

Both companies were pleased with the new arrangement.

“888’s reputation, established player base and global marketing strength, paired with CryptoLogic’s industry-leading games – it’s a winning combination,” said Crypto President and CEO Brian Hadfield.

“This reaffirms 888’s strategy of creating a game ecosystem, powered by an industry-leading integration infrastructure, which enables 888 to introduce a diversified offering to existing and new players, worldwide,” said Hadfield’s CEO counterpart at 888, Gigi Levy.

Then Hadfield and company announced a deal with Scandinavian poker site OPoker.com.

More recently, CryptoLogic announced an exclusive deal with the Maharajah Club to be the sole software provider for the popular gaming site.

Swedish software company Boss Media announced a change near the top of the food chain with the outgoing Michael Hallén being replaced by Rahul Parekh, formerly of Lottomatica-GTECH.

Citing a survey by pollster Allan Gregg, Montreal Gazette reported that 56 percent of survey participants said that online poker and sports wagering were things they considered acceptable forms of gambling.

According to an AP report proposed smoking ban for Detroit-area casinos, similar to a ban in the state of New Jersey, could have a potentially negative effect.

In fact, across the border in Ontario, Canada, a 2006 ban on smoking is said to be responsible for job cuts at Caesars Windsor.
