Betting On The 2008 Final Four
by Karl Yu, WinnerOnline
31 March, 2008

SPORTS

So much for madness in March.

While there were some notable upsets in this year’s NCAA championship basketball tournament, the Final Four teams are all No. 1 seeds.

The four teams will head to San Antonio, Texas this week and will play for the right to be in the title game on Monday.

Here is a look at the Final Four.

North Carolina (+181 to win the championship)

It’s been a pretty smooth ride for the Tar Heels throughout the March Madness tournament and the team has lived up to their top billing overall and in the East Region.

North Carolina is a perfect 4-0 against the spread and has won its tournament games by an average margin of victory of 25-points.

Forward Tyler Hansbrough is averaging 21 ppg and 9.5 rpg in tourney play and was named an AP All-American.

The Tar Heels will face the Kansas Jayhawks in one of the Final Four matchups and are listed as a 3-point favorite.

Memphis Tigers (+317)

The top dog in the South, Memphis started March Madness off with two straight ATS losses but has recovered nicely in the latter stages of the tournament.

It seems like the smaller the line, the bigger margin of victory for Memphis.

The Tigers were favored by 25½ (Texas-Arlington) and 9½ (Mississippi St.) points in their first two matchups and blew both ATS.

The latter two matchups saw them favored by 5½ (Michigan St.) and 3½ (Texas) points and the team won 92-74 and 85-67 respectively.

And if the prevailing trend continues, Memphis might be the way to go in the Final Four as the Tigers are favored by 1-point against UCLA.
