BoDog Releases Odds on NFL Draft
24 March 2004

PRESS RELEASE

SOURCE: BoDog

BoDog.com Sportsbook and Casino™ has released odds on the New York Giants and San Diego Chargers first round selections in the upcoming NFL Draft.

The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 24-25, 2004 in New York, and the potential for Eli Manning following in his brother’s footsteps as a number one selection seems almost inevitable.

“The Chargers are clearly lacking in the Quarterback category, and the Manning family has a reputation of breeding some top notch football players,” said Rob Gillespie, President of BoDog.com Sportsbook and Casino. “Kerry Collins put in a lack luster performance for the Giants last season, and Jesse Palmer may be side tracked trying to choose a bride.”

Unless the Chargers trade away, they will be picking first in this year's draft and Manning would be a wise decision. Eli Manning is the current favorite at even 1/1 odds, with Iowa Offensive Tackle Robert Gallery close behind at 8/5. Another QB in the fray for the Chargers is Ben Roethlisberger, currently listed at 7/2 odds. The long shot first pick for the Chargers is Miami Junior Free Safety Sean Taylor, coming out of the gates at 20/1 odds.

While a number of teams exploited holes in the Giants' game last season, the choices of players are a little broader in the early going. Robert Gallery is the favorite to be the Giants first choice in this year’s NFL Draft, currently listed at 5/4 odds. The common names being mentioned are also in the hunt, with Eli Manning at 2/1, and Ben Roethlisberger at 3/1 odds. The long shot choice for the G-Men is Oklahoma Defensive Tackle Tommie Harris, listed at 12/1 odds.

“Between the Giants, Jets, Raiders, and Eagles fans, the NFL Draft is always exciting to watch, and see which players get booed by fans,” said Gillespie. “Lest we forget a certain Donovan McNabb getting booed to high heavens from the Eagles faithful, my-oh-my how times have changed in Philly.”
