Stockholm-based gambling software developer, Net Entertainment has just announced its acquisition of game developer, Infragaming AB.
Net Entertainment will acquire all of Infragaming's software and programming technology, as well as key members of the Infragaming development team. Net Entertainment is anticipating that the acquisition and added staff will enable it to increase development potential and boost the number of products released during the coming year.
Company CEO Pontus Lindwall noted that, "We have set high goals for this year and I feel extremely positive that this will strengthen our organization." Johan Klaesson, Net Entertainment's marketing director, seconds that assessment.
"With the powerful expertise we get from Infragaming we will also be able to build state-of-the-art downloadable software, and even more stable and secure backends," said Klaesson.
Infragaming has developed a number of products specifically for the online gaming industry, including a new, downloadable multi-player poker game. The game is a new generation Texas Hold'em poker game that has already received good reviews from industry insiders.
Players can preview the new poker game at RiverKingdom.com, and sign up to be a Beta tester or to receive information about the final release.
The graphics from the game have also earned high praise, and will be featured in Simon Danaher's book 3D Digital Design. Maxon Computer will also use River Kingdom splash screens in their manual for the ART version of the Cinema4D software.
Net Entertainment specializes in the creation, development and management of Java gaming software for the Internet, digital TV and mobile Web devices. The company plans to complete Infragaming projects that are currently in development as part of the acquisition.
