Malta Casino Hit By Speedy Thieves 10th February 2010
Maltese casino the Casino di Venezia was robbed last week by a group of well oiled and fast thinking thieves. The casino staff and gamblers told the police that the casino robbers spook fluent Maltese and did not have any traces of a foreign accent. Maltese police have linked the gang of thieves to an unsuccessful robbery attempt on a bank van a month ago in Sta Venera.
The casino robbery featured six accomplices in a well planned heist. Four men entered the casino and demanded money from casino staff before jumping in to a getaway car with a driver waiting in it. The car was a Pajero, and the five men then drove it into the sea before changing transport into a speed boat, with another waiting driver. Maltese police have made a few arrests and are interviewing them for more leads.
