The month of September has delivered strong results for the small gambling enclave. Revenue in Macau has shot up by 53 percent in September and is the riding a small wave of the third straight monthly increase in gambling revenue. This boosts the bottom line for all the new operators in the area which include Las Vegas Sands, MGM Mirage, Wynn Resorts and Melco Crown Entertainment.
The increase in revenue is largely due to the easing of visa restrictions from the mainland. As the tenth anniversary of Macau returning to China draws closer, the gambling industry is predicting visa restrictions to be eased further, further allowing revenues to grow in the once Portugese colony. October will host the Golden Week holiday which will lead to lots of Chinese traffic and plenty of holiday to be passed on at the gambling tables.
