Alberta man Seguro Ndabene has managed to secure himself a $17 million lottery pay day by winning his case against the Western lottery Corporation in Canada. Seguro had problems with claiming his jackpot because another man had claimed that the ticket was purchased as part of a group and not as an individual. The man who issued the claim, Tony Koprnicky, later withdrew his comments and nobody else has challenged Seguro’s winning lottery numbers or ticket.
Seguro Ndabene is originally from Mozambique and has miraculously won the lottery five times. His first won a major jackpot in October 2004, and since then has won varying amounts of money, with his latest $17 million, the biggest lottery jackpot to date. His lucky streak is keeping mathematicians completely mystified since the odds of winning the lottery five times, has so many zeros on it that mathematicians are scratching their heads at how this could possibly happen.
