Kane County May Drop Video Gambling Ban 14th May 2010
Kane County lawmakers are considering a reversal of a decision last year to ban video gambling from the county’s unincorporated areas. The Kane County board narrowly voted out a law to legalise video gambling to help increase government revenue. Since the last vote in December, several board members have decided that it may be better to actually legalise the video gambling and the ruling may be subject to board voting again soon.
The last vote in December had three members of the board absent who would have possibly voted in favour of legalised video gambling. The now continual bad economy means that lawmakers are reconsidering how to increase state revenue to ensure major works can be carried out. Research has been completed since last December on how the county can effectively monitor and administer the video gambling revenue and it’s operators. The issue is soon to be revisited.
