Las Vegas Sands has released a statement stating that it does not think that it will be engaging with junket operators to provide casino customers. The view of it is a two way sword with the Singapore government most likely ruling out the use of junkets and also the Casino Regulatory Authority releasing how junket operators can be licensed and whether they suit the junket style of operation that Macau casinos rely on. Junkets provide Macau casinos with 70% of their traffic, but it is widely viewed that this will not be the case for the Singapore Marina Bay Sands casino.
Marina Bay Sands has outlined that it looks like it will be depending on a different strategy to gain gambling revenue. It claims to already have plenty of high rollers who are waiting for the opening of the casino. There are already plenty of high rollers who fly from Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Malaysia to head to Las Vegas Sands in the US, with the new Marina Bay Sands opening, they should be able to start gambling closer to home.
