Event 36, World Championship Omaha Hi-Lo Split Eight-or-Better
Buy-In: $5,000
Entrants: 280
Final Table: June 23, 2007
Bracelet Winner: John "Scoopalot" Guth wins $363,216
John Guth is reported to have started his gambling career as a child playing for candy. Whether that helped him make the move into the online gambling scene where he's been quite successful he hasn't said. Either way winning this year's Championship Omaha event required him to beat the likes of Mike Matusow, Todd Brunson and Annie Duke obviously shows that he's been successful in turning his online success into real action at the live tournaments. His boisterous cheering section of fellow players and drinking buddies at the final table probably didn't hurt.

Entrants: 599
Final Table: June 24, 2007
Bracelet Winner: Greg Hopkins wins $269,274
Greg Hopkins has been grinding it out for quite some time. He's been playing poker for many years, live tournaments for the last 13, and saw his first cash finishes at WSOP 2000. Bucking the trend of the studly young online players that invaded the WSOP this year Greg keeps a pretty low profile. When asked how he felt about finally taking home some WSOP gold he simply lowered his head and said "You have no idea how good this moment feels."

"I realized that I like the game a lot, because, to me, the poker game is like a business." After having been introduced to tournament poker only two years ago this Canadian player (originally from Hong Kong but now living in Vancouver, BC) has made his point: gold talks.

Bracelet Winner: Kassem "Freddy" Deeb wins $2,276,832
A career player Kassem Deeb was born Nov. 27, 1955, in Beirut, Lebanon. In 1974 the escalating war in Labanon prompted him to leave for the US where his student Visa allowed him to study at Utah State University. His financial situation forced him to drop out and, after one thing lead to another, he found himself in Reno with few options but to try turning his modest poker experience as a kid and in university into something serious. His first WSOP cash finish came in 1990 and he's followed that with 11 more over the years for a career tournament total of close to $4 million. This is his first WSOP gold bracelet.
