The commissioner of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for the last three years, Jeffrey Pollack, has decided to resign from his position to find new a new challenge for his career path. Announcing this news after the final table, Jeffrey Pollack leaves the WSOP after overseeing one of the most dramatic changes ever of the main event, where the final table is played out four months later, so that all the ‘November Nine’ candidates can receive much more promotion and also allow the WSOP itself to catch up on TV episodes before airing the final table.
Jeffrey Pollack joined the organisation as a marketing responsible back in 2004 and was promoted to the commissioner position in January 2006. Since his watch, the WSOP has received major gains in player numbers and much bigger prize pools. Players now fly in from all over the world to play the WSOP and have introduced new events of the WSOP in Europe. Harrah’s has yet to decide who will fill in the position.
