Pennsylvania State Lottery To Award GTECH Service Contract
16 January, 2008

NEWS

SOURCE: Press Release

(Rome, IT and Providence, RI) — Lottomatica S.p.A. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH Corporation, has been notified by the Pennsylvania State Lottery of its intent to award GTECH a five-year integrated services contract to provide complete online and instant systems, a minimum of 10,000 IMAGINE™ lottery terminals, a new telecommunications network, and related services.

This award to GTECH represents the first time the Company has been chosen to be the systems, terminal, and services provider to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania , which has been serviced by other lottery vendors since the Lottery's inception in 1972.

The proposed contract, which is expected to commence in January 2009, follows a competitive procurement, and includes five one-year extension options, exercisable at the Lottery's discretion.

“The win in Pennsylvania is an important milestone for GTECH,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “Of the largest lotteries in the United States , those with more than $2 billion in total annual sales, GTECH now counts all of them as customers.”

The Pennsylvania Lottery ranks sixth in the U.S., in terms of total lottery sales for its most recent fiscal year, with sales of $3.076 billion.

Further details of this award will be disclosed following the signing of a definitive agreement with the Pennsylvania Lottery.
