Illegal Gambling Rising In Malaysia 25th October 2009
Illegal Gambling in Malaysia has soured to roughly 1 million Malaysian ringgit per day and a yearly rate of roughly 125.8 million Malaysian ringgit. What is currently disturbing the government that this figure is very close to the actual legal gambling that is allowed in the country. The Malaysian government is now working with local levels of law enforcement to ensure that they try to control this growing epidemic.
In the last three months, Malaysian police have raided 10 illegal gambling premises in five states and arrested over 50 people involved with illegal gambling. Many government investigations believe that cyber cafes are a hotspot for illegal bets. Other locations included homes and back alley shop fronts which are often hard to detect.
