The new Hollywood Casino is scheduled to commence construction this month at the Kansas Speedway. The casino is set to sport a theme which designers have labelled as Hollywood meets NASCAR and will have plenty of film and racing memorabilia and video displays with gambling floors that have been modelled from movie studio back lots. For the gambling fans out there who enjoy movies and racing cars, the Hollywood casino pulls both worlds together.

The building of the casino is a welcome boost for the local construction industry. Since the recession, Kansas City has featured an unemployment rate of 25 percent for the local building trades. With the construction of the casino, there will be 1,700 construction jobs created with the total bill for the construction set to be at $180 million. Part of the construction will be building a 1,500 parking lot, with future plans including a hotel and other entertainment amenities.
