Harrah's Makes Move On Racetrack 19th September 2009
Fresh after announcing it's move on Planet Hollywood, Harrah's Entertainment is set to move in on Ohio racetrack Thistledown horse-racetrack. The deal has been approved by the bankruptcy judge of Delaware and is seeking regulatory approval. This deal, worth over $898.5 million, is another chapter in Harrah's book of aggressive expansion during troubled times.
Although Harrah's financial position has come under a lot of criticism of why it would continue to acquire so much when it has debts of it's own, recent debt notes have allowed the company to be in a highly liquid position to acquire companies to help service it's debt in the future. All industry eyes are now pinned on Harrah's next move. Their rapid expansion has caught the attention of many who are interested to see if this company is heading for a fast move up or a fast drop down.
