Harrah’s Entertainment has continued it’s impressive surge of acquisitions by hiring former Walt Disney Corporation Executive Peter E Murphy as president of strategy and development. This move is set to see Murphy eventually promoted to the company’s higher senior executive positions. Murphy was previously employed as an adviser for Apollo Management, a firm that is a partnership firm of Harrah’s Entertainment.

Peter E Murphy’s appointment comes amid a long list of recent acquisitions and partnerships by Harrah’s Entertainment. Recent activity like purchasing part of Planet Hollywood’s debt, partnerships in casinos in Slovakia and purchasing horse race tracks in Cleveland are just some of the recent headline making advancements the company has made. Murphy previously served at Disney for 17 years and oversaw many of Disney’s major acquisitions.
