Harrah's Entertainment has again showed that it is the most aggressive player on the market by announcing that it will be partnering with another company to build a $2.2 billion casino project in Slovakia. The plan for the project include a shopping mall, water and adventure parks, golf course, hotels and casinos. The first phase of operations will start construction in 2010 and will open in 2012. The partnership of Harrah's and TriGranit is still in negotiation but an agreement is expected to be reached.
The resort will be named 'Metropolis' and is planned to built on a 74 acres piece of land just outside the capital of Bratislava. It will be within 137 miles of four international airports and will be very conveniently linked to ensure tourists and gamblers have an easy passage to the gambling resort. Previous Harrah's projects in Europe include helping build a Caesars branded hotel and casino in the South of Madrid.
