Galaxy Entertainment has confirmed that it has acquired a plot of land on the Cotai Strip to the value of US$365 million. The plan is to build a new casino called the Galaxy Macau which will include a world class hotel, gaming facilities and entertainment. Construction is set to begin in 2010.

The company Galaxy Entertainment is owned by Macau gambling legend Stanley Ho. The portfolio includes Star World Casino and Grand Waldo Hotel, which is already on the Cotai Strip. It's newest project the Galaxy World Resort is promised to be the newest and grandest of all the casinos in Macau.
