North Carolina (+400, 16-7 ATS)

A tournament regular, the Tar Heels have a storied history at March Madness. It isn’t out of the question to see them amongst the Elite Eight, or Final Four for that matter.

This year’s edition is led in scoring and rebounding by sophomore forward Tyler Hansbrough (18.6 ppg, 7.8 rbg). Hansbrough is third on the ACC scoring list.

The Tar Heels lead the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring (88.1 ppg) and rebounding (42.6 rbg).

UCLA (+800, 12-10 ATS)

Runners up last year, the Bruins are making a big push to win their first championship since 1995.

One of the top teams in the Pac-10, UCLA gets a bulk of their scoring from the trio of G Arron Afflalo (17.4 ppg), swingman Josh Shipp and G Darren Collison (both 13.0 ppg).

Collison and Afflalo rank second and third in the Pac-10 for assists and scoring respectively.

Meanwhile, the Bruins are shooting lights out with a field goal percentage of 48.8, tops in their conference and as a matter of fact, they are in the top five in Pac-10 scoring offense, rebounding, 3-point shooting as well as field goal shooting.

Bubble Teams

Duke (+3000, 12-13 ATS)

It’s amazing what a year can do. Last year at around this time, coach K and his Blue Devils were near the top of the ACC standings and a favorite to make the championship. As it stands now, they might not even be a team that makes the tournament.

As of February 14, Duke is sixth in the conference with a miserable 5-6 record. They have fallen out of both the AP and ESPN/USA Today polls and could very well miss the Madness for the first time in seemingly centuries. Duke fans have even more reasons to feel blue as they are second last in the conference in scoring offense and shooting from the field. Coach K and the Blue crew could very well be on the outside looking in.

G DeMarcus Nelson leads the team with 14 ppg and C Josh McRoberts leads in rebounding (7.9 rbg).

Villanova (+7000, 12-7-2 ATS)

Villanova is in the middle of the Big East pack, although they do have a solid overall 17-7 record.

Forward Curtis Sumpter leads the team with 17.7 points and 7 boards a game.

Wins in upcoming games against Georgetown, Marquette could catapult them into the tourney.

Top 5 ATS NCAA Basketball Teams

1) Butler (Horizon) 17-6
2) Mississippi (SEC) 16-5
3) Davidson (Southern-South) 16-6-1
4) Georgetown (Big East) 14-5-1
5) USC (Pac-10) 15-6
