Continued from page 1

For U.S. players the situation is very different because many, but by no means all, of the game providers have voluntarily withdrawn from the U.S. scene by refusing to accept U.S. players and it's usually pretty easy to tell because (a) you'll almost certainly have received an email from the site telling you whether they will, or will not, accept U.S. players and (b) because almost all sites that do not accept U.S. players have a statement similar to this on their front page:

"Our services are not available to residents of the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands or U.S. Minor Outlying Areas."- seen at intercasino.com

However, as indicated, many sites are still welcoming U.S. players and obviously they're doing so because they've got alternate funding and withdrawal methods for their players to use.

Let's look at a list of deposit methods still typically available to U.S. residents AND widely accepted by online casinos and poker rooms:

Deposits

- ePassporte
- Diners Club International
- Solo / Maestro / Switch Debit Cards
- ECCO cards
- Wire Transfer (e.g. Western Union)
- Money Order
- Bank Draft
- "Gifts2Go" Prepaid Gift Cards

Another recent development—actually it's a technique that was popular a few years ago before it got nudged out by PayPal and NETeller—is the proprietary cash handling systems. These are much like the eCash Direct system set up by Cryptologic a number of years ago to handle transactions to and from Intercasino and other Cryptologic-driven casinos.

Today, for example, FullTiltPoker.com is setting up the MyWebATM system; Poker Stars is introducing the Poker Stars Banks and so forth.

Withdrawals

In almost all cases the method you used to deposit can also be used to withdraw, up to the amount you originally deposited. Beyond that the options get much fewer fairly quickly. The most widely recommended methods today are:

- eChecks
- ePassporte
- plain old bank checks sent to your address
