ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- Fed up with the Oscars? Don't panic. Online sports book Intertops.com is giving punters the chance to back the chocolate teapots of cinema with action on the 23rd Annual Razzie Awards.

The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation meets at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Santa Monica for its annual "ultra low budget ceremony" on Friday, March 14, 2003 -- just 24 hours before the couture-clad celebrities gather for the 75th Academy Awards.

"Swept Away" -- the unholy spawn of Mr. and Mrs. Madonna -- is the "favorite" in the Razzie Worst Picture category closely followed by Britney Spears' disastrous debut "Crossroads."

Other contenders for Worst Picture are Roberto Begnini's "Pinocchio" and "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones." Will George or a digital CGI be there to pick it up?

Eddie Murphy's yo-yo like acting ability is also honored. His performance in the interstellar stinker "The Adventures of Pluto Nash" makes him favorite to take the Worst Actor Razzie.

Also in search of new agents are: Adam Sandler, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Segal, Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie -- all nominees in the Worst Actor or Actress categories.

"It's not every day we get to say 'back a loser and win'," said Intertops.com Chief Bet Manager Michael Maerz. "But this time the unpopular films are the favorites.

"Every sports book -- including Intertops.com -- has action on the Oscars. We thought it would be fun to give our customers the chance to hit back at Hollywood and bet on some of the stinkers of the year," he said.
