Casino Player's March issue has hit newsstands with 62 pages of information on Internet casinos, sportsbooks and gaming resources, including their readers' picks for Best of the Web.

Among the big winners was the Sands of the Caribbean with awards and honorable mentions in 13 categories including Best Game Selection, Best Video Poker, Best Multiplayer Games, Best Payout Program and Best Reputation.

Mapau Casino, which is operated by the reputable Sunny Group, took home the coveted Best Overall Online Casino award. Casino Fortune, another Sunny Group site, got the nod for Best Reputation and Best Customer Service.

Surprises included Atlantic Interbet's win in the Best Casino Software category, besting InterCasino, Captain Cooks and Casino Domain. Microgaming was chosen Best Casino Software Provider with honorable mentions going to CryptoLogic, Boss Media and Gambling Software's no-download system.

Galaxiworld picked up honors as Best WebTV Compatible Casino, which probably says more about the overall lack of WebTV casinos than the quality of the Galaxiworld gaming experience.

Four Aces Casino, which is temporarily offline while the operator gets new software in place, won the Best Online Casino Odds award. However, Casino Player noted that, in this case, their "readers voted for an online casino that does not, at least on the surface, appear to have superior benefits over other online casinos."

Sportsbook.com snatched Best Overall Sportsbook honors while 5 Dimes Casino & Sportsbook was deemed to have the Best Sportsbook Odds.

WINNERonline garnered accolades and honorable mentions in four categories, including Best Gambling Portal Site, Best Casino Gambling Information Site, Best Casino Bulletin Board, and Best Gambling E-Newsletter.

The winners were picked by reader survey conducted at Casino Player's website (www.casinocenter.com). Although Casino Player concedes that, like the Presidential election, their ballot was not perfect, the magazine stands by their readers' selections. "We believe our survey results produced a list of sites that truly are the best," said Casino Player Contributing Editor John Hansen.
