Wynn Resorts has made the announcement that it will be expecting to carry out expansions of their Las Vegas Encore Resort. This news comes as a surprise to gambling industry analysts with the current slow environment providing less than ideal conditions to be carrying out any mass expansions, or credit fuelled developments. Wynn, however, has moved against the current trends to announce that they are channelling funds to making enhancements to their Las Vegas Resort.

The encore resort was built in 2006, opened in 2008 and situated next to Wynn Las Vegas on the Las Vegas strip. It boasts luxury hotel suites, shopping arcades, jewellery shops, table games, etc. Slow gambling numbers and the recession has meant that in 2009, the revenue of the combined resorts of Wynn and Encore has been lower than 2008.
