All killer, no filler NFL betting: Week 13

Jacksonville Jaguars at Miami Dolphins – Dolphins Stadium (Grass)

Line: Pick’em (Opening: Miami -2½)

Over/Under: 35½ (Opening: 37)

Records: Jaguars 6-5 (6-5 ATS), Dolphins 5-6 (4-7 ATS)

Game Time: 4:05 PM EST

Key Points: Jacksonville QB Byron Leftwich was placed on IR, meaning David Garrard will start for the rest of the season.

Stud DT Marcus Stroud didn’t suit up for practice on Friday, but Jags bettors needn’t fear, he is listed as probable and is expected to play and ditto for LB Jorge Cordova (hamstring) and P Chris Hanson (hamstring).

The Dolphins played on Thanksgiving Thursday—where they covered against the Detroit Lions—and had three extra days to rest up for this week, but that wasn’t enough time for RB Ronnie Brown, who will miss this week’s game with a hand injury.

Prized offseason free-agent acquisition Daunte Culpepper had surgery to clean up his knee, which was surgically repaired last year, and the date for his return was not specified.

CB Michael Lehan, who injured his nose in the same game as Brown, was upgraded to questionable and hit the practice field on Thursday.

Run stuffing defensive lineman Keith Traylor is still having knee problems, but is listed as probable.

The Dolphins have rattled off 4 SU wins in a row.

* Following this game both the Dolphins and the Jags play in crucial divisional matchups, with the Jags facing the Colts and the Dolphins facing the Pats.

The Jags are 5-0 ATS prior to a tilt against Indy and Miami is 4-8 ATS before a tilt with New England.

* Jacksonville is 1-5 against the number in their past six.

* Miami is 3-8 ATS in their past 11 at Dolphins Stadium.

* Miami is 1-4 ATS vs. AFC South opponents.

Winneronline Opinion: Miami has won with the arm of Joey Harrington during their mini 4-game streak, but the loss of Ronnie Brown will be felt. Nevertheless Miami is playing well. Take Miami as the pick’em.

Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos – Invesco Field (Grass)

These former AFC West rivals get set to renew acquaintances.

Line: Denver -4 (Opening: Denver -3½)

Over/Under: 40 (Opening: 39)

Records: Seattle 7-4 (3-7 ATS), Denver 7-4 (4-7 ATS)

Game Time: 8:15 PM EST

Key Points: ‘Hawks C Robbie Tobeck will miss a second game with an abscess on his hip.

According to coach Mike Holmgren, all the hub bub about QB Matt Hasselbeck’s hand is being blown out of proportion. Hasselbeck is listed as probable.

WR Darrell Jackson (knee) missed practice on Thursday but is listed as probable.

Unfortunately for Seahawks fans, TE Itula Mili is still suffering from a concussion and is questionable. Seattle's other TE Jerramy Stevens dropped more than a few balls last week and was lustily booed by Seattle fans.

Highly regarded rookie QB Jay Cutler gets his first start for Denver, replacing Jake Plummer.

RB Tatum Bell (toe), WR Javon Walker (foot), CB Darrent Williams (shoulder) and LB Al Wilson (thumb) are all probable.

* Seattle is 2-5 ATS in their last seven matchups with Denver.

* The Seahawks are 1-9 ATS when visiting AFC opponents.

* Seattle is 0-7 ATS in their last seven road games.

* The Seahawks are 3-8 ATS vs. AFC opponents, home or away.

* Denver is 13-3-2 ATS after a SU divisional loss.

* The Broncos are 1-8 ATS at home before back-to-back road games.

* The Broncos are 4-2 ATS vs. NFC opponents.

Winneronline Opinion: Much depends on the play of Jay Cutler. Many are saying that he is mature beyond is years and ready start for Denver, but I’m willing to bet that Mike Holmgren and his staff will be preparing all sorts of blitzes and other schemes to confuse and rattle the rookie. Take Seattle.
