Chinese And Internet Gambling
5th March 2010

Many major online gambling website shave their eyes fixated at the giant country and it’s huge population. With it’s continual globilisation and increasing wealth, many are catching on to online gambling as a form of relaxation and also as a source of income. However, for Chinese government officials, online gambling is still against the law and is seen as an activity that extracts Chinese money into foreign hands.

China’s police force has started to investigate the sources of the many online gambling sites now specifically targeting Chinese players. Many of them are online casinos that have been rebranded in Chinese. So far, Chinese police have already broken into two hundred and twenty online gambling cases and also arrested 918 suspects. There remains many more suspects and arrests waiting to be made since there is such a large population and so many offshore gambling sites operating.
